The Kevin O'Grady School's First Talent Show Rocked! June 11, 2010
For those who weren't able to attend the performance, you missed a spectacular show! Each performer was unique and amazing. Deb Morrison, as the show's MC, added lively introductions and kept the show moving along at a lively pace.
Throughout the show the crowd roared with laughter to jokes told individually by comedians. A dancing duet by classroom friends blew the audience away with their hysterical synchronized moves and fun props utilized in the performance as they danced to the song, "9 to 5." The next act sang a capella, "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow," with her bold, beautiful style, had the crowd smiling with joy uncontrollably. She was great!
After each act the KOGS talent show judges, Kim Ceccarelli, Cindy Grinnell and Andrea Holt pumped up the performers by giving them their individual comments and praises. The whole show was electrified by the show's musical director, Bethany Vahn-Phipps, who led the audience sing along songs, including "Lean on Me" dedicated to the energetic and passionate students and staff of the Kevin O'Grady School. A special thanks to Lee Mondi, of the KOGS Behavior Team, for preparing the final talent show program and designing the award certificates.
Everyone who left the Talent Show that day walked away feeling so proud of the students and deeply inspired by their life force energy and the love that was radiated to us through that spirit.
First-ever Walk & Roll a great success!
More than 100 participants came out for the first ever
Walk & Roll fundraiser at the Kevin O'Grady School on Saturday, May 15th.
Thanks to the generosity of KOG families and staff, the event raised nearly $20,000 to "Build a Special PlaySpace."
It was a beautiful, spring day as KOG families and staff walked or rolled around the building 10 times for a total of two miles to the beat of lively music provided by Radio Disney. There were lots of fun games, including Disney trivia run by Radio Disney and a mini carnival organized by PTO President Eva Quinlan and volunteers.
Special thanks to our top five fundraisers:
- Staff member Peter Morgan -- $3,025
- KOG student Kayla Campagna -- $1,950
- KOG teacher Sandra Busa -- $1,905
- KOG student Christopher Morris -- $1,000
- KOG student Patrick Fournier -- $750
The
Walk & Roll promises to be an annual rite of spring at the Kevin O'Grady School, so plan to join the fun in May 2011! Proceeds will go to build the PlaySpace for older students.
