THE LEARNING AND
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
(LLP)
"Endicott College Article-Lynn Middle School Students Experience Endicott through
Summer Learning and Leadership Program"
The Project
Beginning in the summer of 2011, the Northshore Education Consortium will launch a three-week summer residential program to challenge high-achieving students. This program, conducted in partnership with Endicott College in Beverly, is designed for students who have completed the seventh or eighth grades in the Consortium's 18 member districts.
The Program
Students enrolled in the Learning and Leadership Program will devote over 75 hours to in-depth learning, interactive activities and project-based collaborative study as they primarily explore STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). To provide a well-balanced experience, the visual and performing arts classes and leadership elements will also be integral to the program.
Goals
- to support and enhance the development of creative and critical thinking skills in STEM subject and the visual & performing arts
- to develop the leadership capacity of students entering high school
- to increase student engagement in life-long learning
- to offer this opportunity to all qualified students regardless of their ability to pay
The 2010 Lynn Pilot Program
